Original Touareg and Atlas 3.6L V6 intake parts are made from cheap plastic that degrades with constant engine bay heat. Fitments become sloppy on 2011-2017 linkage arm sockets which then separate from their balls. Variable intake function is eliminated. The dreaded CEL illuminates, engine power drops, fuel efficiency is reduced, and driveability suffers. As will an owner's wallet...
Previous to this part's existence, the only recourse was to purchase an entire upper intake manifold. -to replace the failed cheap plastic linkage arm with another cheap plastic linkage arm. Labor to replace the assembly cost about as much as the part itself for a total repair outlay of around $2400. -absurd.
Guaranteed for Life:
Our kit is made from unbreakable 6061-T651 aircraft-grade aluminum and replaces only the factory linkage plus drive ball. The linkage socket features a custom Delrin insert that precisely mates with the intake manifold's ball. This provides excellent lubrication and unmatched strength. Here is a full solution for intake manifolds numbered 03H133201AE (03H-133-201AE), 03H133201AF (03H-133-201AF) and 3H133201AE (3H-133-201AE).
Fitments:
Touareg w/3.6L V6 from 2011-2017, Atlas w/3.6L from 2017-Present using intake manifold P/N 03H133201AE (03H-133-201AE), 03H133201AF (03H-133-201AF) and 3H133201AE (3H-133-201AE)
Instructions:
These parts can be installed with the manifold on the engine. Unclip the two actuator halves and remove the long spring and rubber diaphragm within the actuator. Unclip the useless plastic linkage arm from the manifold ball (if it hasn’t done that on its own already). Reinstall the rubber diaphragm onto our billet link arm, slide it thru the actuator, then firmly snap it onto the ball. Replace the spring and snap the actuator halves together. This should take 10 minutes, and you can do this yourself – no need to spend $2400 at the dealer on this for more plastic that will soon break again!
