VW 02A/J ring gear bolt kit with 12-point nuts, 1.180" Under Head Length, M10 x 1.25" Thread Size. This is the same set used in our full 02A/02J Differential Install Kit. ARP ring gear bolts are forged from premium grade 8740 chrome moly steel. -heat-treated to a nominal rating of 200,000 psi tensile strength. Specially hardened precision-ground washers are included where required.
The tremendous shock loads generated in racing put considerable strain on a ring gear. That includes launching most any drag racing vehicle equipped with slicks, the acceleration/deceleration + lateral loads of road racers, or landing jumps in rally cars. For this reason, the fastener experts at ARP have developed the Pro Series ring gear bolts.
Note: Early 02A's with transmission code ATA with production number up to 12099 will require 020 gear bolt kit (204-3001).
