A lightened flywheel reduces the engine’s rotational inertia. This allows for much snappier throttle response. Single mass wheels also eliminate the vague and numb engagement feeling common to OEM (dual mass) wheels.

In a sports car, this translates into a more rewarding and engaging driving experience. Idle may be slightly rougher (similar to addition of mild performance cams).
