Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential is suitable for the rear of 016 transmissions (e.g. Audi A4, 4000, Porsche 944, etc). A direct replacement for the standard open differential, the Quaife 016 will positively transform your car's handling and launch performance.
Many benefits are offered over a standard open differential including maximising traction, minimizing wheelspin exiting corners, and more consistent rear drive bias at the limit. Torque steer and driveline wrecking wheel hop/tire snatch are also minimized. Unlike a conventional plate-style limited slip differential, the Quaife 016 rear relies on gears rather than clutch plates for its operation. That means it is much smoother in operation and maintenance-free over time. No periodic rebuilds are required to keep performance consistent.
These differentials never lock harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle, like a plate-type LSD. Rather, the Quaife LSD automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree, and never locks.
